In the process of metal powder injection molding, injection molding and sintering are used in combination. Fine metal powder is mixed with an organic binder and pressed into the desired shape during powder injection molding. The binder is then removed, and the molded part is sintered in the oven at high temperatures. The purely metallic end product receives the mechanical advantages of sintered components with the greatest freedom of design thanks to injection molding.
